Vientiane: The 12th Lao National Games will take place in Vientiane from November 15 to 25, 2025, gathering the nation’s top athletes to compete across more than 30 sports. The event aims to highlight sporting excellence and foster national unity, with competitions scheduled at major venues in Vientiane and selected nearby provinces.
According to Lao News Agency, the opening ceremony is set for November 15 at the Lao National Stadium, officially commencing the games. Men’s football matches will be played from November 15 to 24 at the Lao National Stadium and other designated venues. Basketball contests, including both 3×3 and 5×5 formats, will occur from November 16 to 23 at the Indoor Basketball Court. Athletics events are scheduled for November 19 to 23 at the Lao National Stadium, while swimming competitions will be held at the Outdoor Swimming Pool during the same period.
The games will conclude with a closing ceremony on November 25, 2025, at the Lao National Stadium. Organizers have stated that all ve
nues are equipped with the necessary facilities, and measures involving security personnel, medical teams, and trained volunteers have been put in place to ensure the event runs smoothly and safely.
