Some 288 people have been diagnosed with Covid-19 over the past 24 hours including 69 imported cases – 44 in Saravan, 14 in Savannakhet, seven in Vientiane, and two each in Champassak and Khammuan, according to the National Taskforce Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.
Up to 219 new local infections were reported mostly in Savannakhet 139 including 135 inmates, Champassak 44, Khammuan 26, Vientiane nine and Saravan one.
Laos’ total of confirmed Covid-19 cases accumulated since late March 2020 has reached 18,347 including 3,938 active cases and 16 deaths.
As of Sep 15, 2021, over 4.63 million people have been vaccinated against Covid-19. These include 2.73 million given first doses and 1.89 million given second doses, according to the Centre of Information and Education for Health, Ministry of Health.
