Manila: The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) on Monday vowed to continue providing accurate and relevant information to the public as it celebrates 82 years of service.
‘Our commitment remains steadfast: to provide accurate, timely, and relevant information that empowers the Filipino citizen,’ the PCO said in a social media post.
‘Together, let’s foster an informed community that stands against disinformation and strives for a brighter future for the Filipino people!’ it added.
The PCO is in charge of disseminating the government’s message to the public, exercising supervision and control over state-owned media entities to spread official messages properly and effectively.
It is also responsible for the accreditation and authentication of reporters covering the activities of the President, as well as foreign media correspondents, in line with its primary task to cultivate relations and assist private media entities.
It previously went by the agency names Office of the Press Secretary and Presiden
tial Communications Operations Office.
