Acting President Han Duck-soo Pledges Support for South Korea’s Animation Industry


Seoul: Acting President Han Duck-soo announced that the government will support the growth of the local animation industry by creating a specialized fund and helping attract investment. This announcement was made during a ministerial meeting where Han emphasized the government’s commitment to promoting the animation industry as a new growth engine for “K-contents,” or Korean pop culture content.

According to Lao News Agency, Han detailed plans to create an animation-specialized fund aimed at investing in small and medium-sized enterprises and venture firms within the industry. The government also plans to actively support attracting investment to over-the-top (OTT) services, broadcasting companies, and venture capital.

In addition to financial support, the government aims to advance technology in the animation sector. This includes developing technology to integrate artificial intelligence and other innovations into animation production and fostering professionals within the field.

ssed plans to improve standards for the production, distribution, and storage of drinking water, along with a plan to enhance digital maritime navigation systems.
