Beijing Plans 50 Billion Yuan Expansion of Medical Device Industry by 2026.

Beijing: The Beijing municipal government has unveiled an action plan aimed at expanding the city's medical device industry to reach a total scale of 50 billion yuan (approximately 7 billion U.S. dollars) by the year 2026. The initiative underscores Beijing's commitment to enhancing its role as a key player in the global medical device market. According to Lao News Agency, the comprehensive plan was developed collaboratively by the city's bureau of economy and information technology and the health commission. It outlines efforts to establish industrial clusters focused on high-end medical equipment, high-value medical consumables, and efficient diagnostic products over the period from 2024 to 2026. The action plan emphasizes the development of high-end medical equipment such as digital subtraction angiography X-ray machines, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation systems, and electromagnetic navigation systems for tumor radiotherapy. It also highlights high-value medical consumables like implantable cardiac p acemakers and artificial intelligence medical devices as critical areas for growth. Additionally, the plan aims to strengthen the cooperation mechanisms among several core departments and leading industrial zones in Beijing. This collaboration is intended to expedite the integration of innovative products into hospital settings, potentially transforming healthcare delivery and outcomes in the region.
