Cambodia Reduces E-Visa Fees to Boost Tourism and Investment

PHNOM PENH: In an effort to attract more tourists and investors, the Cambodian government has announced a reduction in e-visa fees effective January 2025. The move is designed to enhance the appeal of Cambodia as a travel and business destination in Southeast Asia.

According to Lao News Agency, the fee for the tourist e-visa (e-visa T) will be reduced from 36 USD to 30 USD, while the regular e-visa (e-visa E) will decrease from 42 USD to 35 USD. This reduction comes as Cambodia expects to welcome approximately 6.7 million foreign visitors and 22 million domestic tourists this year, surpassing pre-pandemic visitor numbers recorded in 2019.

Tourism plays a crucial role in Cambodia’s economy, alongside the garment, footwear, and travel goods export sectors, agriculture, and construction and real estate. The government hopes that the lower e-visa fees will further bolster these economic pillars by drawing more international attention to Cambodia’s attractions and business opportunities.
