Havana: The Cuban Government has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the global initiatives of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), as it commemorates the 79th anniversary of the agency. The announcement was made through a message from the Cuban Foreign Ministry on its X profile, emphasizing Cuba’s dedication to UNESCO’s mission in the pursuit of peace.
According to Lao News Agency, Cuba has pledged to uphold UNESCO’s multilateral and intergovernmental nature, as well as its founding principles and values. UNESCO, established on November 16, 1945, aims to contribute to global peace and security through education, science, culture, and communication. The constitution of UNESCO became effective on November 4, 1946, following ratification by 20 member states.
