Cuba to Host 15th International Convention on Environment and Development


Havana: The 15th International Convention on Environment and Development is set to take place at the Havana-based Conference Center from July 1 to 5, drawing professionals from over a dozen countries.

According to Lao News Agency, the event will see the participation of nearly 700 Cuban specialists alongside more than 70 international attendees from nations including Argentina, Canada, Chile, Spain, the United States, Haiti, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Saint Lucia, and Suriname. The convention is organized by the Environmental Agency of the Cuban Science, Technology, and Environment Ministry (CITMA), in collaboration with various entities and organizations.

The gathering will feature researchers, authorities, educators, specialists, managers, entrepreneurs, professionals, producers, and sector representatives. Participants will convene in Havana, united by a commitment to global sustainability under the theme ‘More awareness for a healthy and balanced environment,’ with both in-person and online partic
ipation options available.

The event will include several congresses: the 15th Congress on Environmental Education for Sustainable Development, the 14th Congress on Protected Areas, the 12th Congress on Environmental Management, and the 10th Congress on Ecosystem and Biodiversity Management. Additional congresses cover topics such as Climate Change, Environmental Policy, Justice, and Law, Geospatial Sciences and Disaster Risk, and Transportation and the Environment.

Consistent with previous editions, the Convention will also feature an Associated Exhibition Fair showcasing Environmental Technologies, Projects, and Experiences.
