Cuban Priests Reveal 2025 Prophecies in Annual Yoruba Ceremony

HAVANA: Cuban priests of the Yoruba religion have announced the main prophecy for Cuba and the world for the year 2025, predicting “a kind of firm and secure health on the earth plane.”

According to Lao News Agency, the traditional ceremony to reveal the Ifa predictions, also known as the Letter of the Year, took place at Cuba’s Yoruba Cultural Association on January 1. The event marked the announcement of spiritual forecasts that are deeply rooted in the Afro-Cuban Santeria tradition. The High Priest of Ifa, Antonio Sevilla Rodriguez, also known as ‘Awo Baba Ofn Meyi,’ declared that 2025 will be characterized by stable health, supported by the Oshas and Orishas, deities revered in this spiritual practice.

The prophecy highlights Shango as the reigning Orisha for 2025. Shango is a significant deity in the Yoruba pantheon, symbolizing thunder, fire, justice, dance, and masculinity. Known for his complex nature, Shango embodies power, passion, and cunning, all of which are influential aspects in Afro-Cuban Santeria.

The Letter of the Year also mentions that Oshun will accompany Shango as the ruling deity, with a red flag adorned with white trimmings symbolizing their presence “by the path of Obatala del Oddum.” Such details are integral to the understanding of the spiritual and cultural implications of the prophecy within the Yoruba community.
