Pasig City: Trisha Tubu is leaving a good impression at the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference, towing Farm Fresh to a 25-23, 25-21, 25-14 victory over Akari at Philsports Arena in Pasig City on Saturday.
According to Philippines News Agency, Tubu had 21 points on 18 attacks and three blocks as the Foxies posted their first win in the 2024-2025 All-Filipino Conference. For her brilliant showing, Tubu was chosen as the third PVL Press Corps Player of the Week for the period Nov. 26 to 30. She beat Cignal’s Gel Cayuna and Jackie Acuña, Capital1 winger Heather Guino-o, ZUS Coffee hitter Chinnie Arroyo, Chery Tiggo spiker Cess Robles, and PLDT star Savi Davison for the weekly award given by print and online journalists covering the competition, which is streamed live and on-demand via Pilipinas Live app and on www.pvl.ph.
Tubu shared the credit with new coach Benson Bocboc, longtime teammate and captain Louie Romero, and the rest of the feisty Foxies. ‘I’m super, super proud for everyone, like w
hat coach told us, not one or two who will move, the whole team is needed,” Tubu said after the game. ‘So, it worked. We are thankful to God because the coach’s plan worked and we just trusted the system and each other,” the 24-year-old former Adamson standout added.
Farm Fresh improved to a 1-2 slate in the six-month competition organized by Sports Vision. Tubu has filled the gaping offensive holes left by recovering spikers Jolina dela Cruz and veteran recruit Rachel Anne Daquis. Farm Fresh will try to keep its momentum against sister team ZUS Coffee at Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Thursday.
