Khammouane: Xaysana Khoutphouthone, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, received Phan Phong Phu, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Quang Tri Province, during an official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation.
According to Lao News Agency, the meeting took place at the provincial administration office and included officials from both Khammouane Province and Quang Tri Province. Xaysana Khoutphouthone welcomed the delegation, emphasizing that the visit reflects the enduring ‘special solidarity’ between Laos and Vietnam, a relationship deeply rooted in the legacy of revolutionary leaders Ho Chi Minh, Kaysone Phomvihane, and Souphanouvong.
Xaysana Khoutphouthone praised the socio-economic progress of Quang Tri Province and advocated for continued efforts to preserve and promote the historic ties for future generations. Phan Phong Phu, in turn, outlined the objectives of the delegation’s visit and congratulated Laos on the recognition of Hin Nam No National Park as a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site.
Phan Phong Phu highlighted the geographical link between Hin Nam No National Park and Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, also a World Heritage Site, underscoring the unique cross-border ecological connection between the two provinces. Ahead of the upcoming Lao New Year, the Quang Tri official extended best wishes to the provincial leaders, expressing hope for continued health, success, and stronger cooperation between Khammouane Province and Quang Tri Province.
