Vientiane: The Standing Committee of the National Assembly of the Lao PDR has set the dates for the inaugural session of the 10th Legislature, scheduled to take place from March 23 to March 27, 2026. This decision was made official with the issuance of Resolution No. 30/SCNA on March 13.
According to Lao News Agency, the five-day session will be conducted at the National Assembly headquarters in Vientiane. This event signifies the formal commencement of the new legislature’s functions following the recent elections. The resolution, which was signed by the President of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, is rooted in Article 54 of the amended Law on the National Assembly, adopted in 2024, which governs the procedures for inaugural sessions.
The resolution is in line with the preparatory steps outlined in Plan No. 25/SCNA, issued on March 3, 2026. It mandates all members of the National Assembly, along with its internal organizations and related sectors, to adhere strictly to the resolution. This adherence is crucial to ensure the successful organization and achievement of the session’s objectives.
