Hanoi: National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone on the sidelines of the 4th Partnership for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G) Summit. Man emphasized the significance of the PM’s attendance, highlighting the Lao Government’s support for Vietnam’s initiatives in climate change response, emission reduction, and green growth.
According to Lao News Agency, Man congratulated Laos on its socio-economic achievements and commended its sustainable development efforts. He expressed confidence in Laos’ continued success and its contribution to ASEAN prosperity. Man reiterated the Vietnamese Party, State, and people’s commitment to the special relationship with Laos and offered to share Vietnam’s experiences in streamlining state management.
Man assured continued cooperation between the Vietnamese legislature and its Lao counterpart in perfecting the legal framework and promoting bilateral initiatives. For his part, Sonexay Siphandone stressed the importance of the friendship and cooperation between the two nations. He invited Vietnam to share experiences in constitutional amendments, economic stability, and building a self-reliant economy.
The Lao leader committed to directing ministries to implement agreements enhancing cooperation in various fields, including economy, culture, education, and technology. The Vietnamese chief legislator also extended Bunpimay New Year greetings to Lao leaders and people.
