Hanoi: The Office of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and the Office of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee have agreed to strengthen their cooperation. This initiative aims to elevate the collaboration and relations between the two parties and countries to a new level, as agreed upon by their respective leaders during discussions held in Hanoi on May 29.
According to Lao News Agency, Secretary of the CPV Central Committee and chief of its office, Le Hoai Trung, along with his Lao counterpart, Thongsalith Mangnomek, exchanged updates on the current situations of their respective parties and countries. They discussed the outcomes of past cooperation between their offices and laid out directions for future collaboration.
Both parties concurred that their 2021-2025 cooperation agreement provides a basis for planning annual activities. They plan to assess their cooperation by the end of the year and aim to sign a new five-year cooperation agreement in early 2026.
The leaders noted that the cooperation activities have played a role in enhancing the quality of advisory work provided to the leaders of both parties and states. This, in turn, has fostered the great friendship and special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.
The Vietnamese office is set to work closely with its Lao counterpart to effectively implement their cooperation agreement, as well as high-level agreements between the two parties. Additionally, the two offices will share experiences during preparations for party congresses at all levels, in anticipation of each party’s national congress.
