Vientiane: On June 30, 2025, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) held a handover ceremony to transfer leadership of key departments following internal restructuring.
According to Lao News Agency, Mr. Chanthaphone Keomalavong handed over his duties to Ms. Vilasaty Sombounkhan as the new Head of Administration, Protocol and Finance. Concurrently, Mr. Khomsan Sayasan transferred leadership of the Department of Legislation to Mr. Patthana Soukaloun, who will serve as Acting Director. Additionally, Ms. Vilasaty Sombounkhan passed on the responsibilities of the Department of Public Relations to Mr. Khomsan Sayasan.
The ceremony was attended by PMO Minister Bouakhong Nammavong and Deputy Minister of Public Security Lyvong Laoly. During the event, leaders acknowledged the contributions of outgoing officials and expressed their confidence in the new leadership team to enhance governance and lead reform efforts effectively.
This leadership transition is part of the PMO’s expanded role following the consolidation of fu
nctions from the Ministry of Home Affairs, aiming to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
