Prime Minister Calls for Urgent Action on Plastic Pollution in World Environment Day Message


Vientiane: Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone has urged the people of Laos to take decisive action against plastic pollution and environmental degradation in his official message marking World Environment Day and National Environment Day on June 5, 2025.



According to Lao News Agency, this year’s observance aligns with the global celebration hosted by South Korea under the theme ‘Beating Plastic Pollution.’ It marks the 52nd World Environment Day and the 26th National Environment Day for Laos.



In his message, the Prime Minister highlighted the urgent need to tackle climate change, reduce plastic use, and address broader environmental threats that endanger human life and biodiversity.
