Seven Hours of Sleep a Night Shields Against Ailments.

KPL/Prensa Latina: More than seven hours of sleep a night could help people age and live better and longer, while warding off common health problems, according to research involving more than 3,000 volunteers and released Monday. According to Lao News Agency, the study, published in BMC Public Health journal, explains that both lack of sleep and excessive sleep are associated with adverse maladies, such as depression, cognitive decline, and mortality. The research underscores the importance of maintaining normal and consistent sleep patterns to prevent physical and mental health problems. To conduct the research, experts from Wenzhou Medical University in China analyzed the sleep habits of more than 3,300 patients aged 45 years and older in the years 2011, 2013, and 2015, followed by a health checkup in 2020. The study defined successful aging as being free of significant chronic diseases, having no physical decline, maintaining high cognitive function, possessing good mental health, and being actively eng aged in life.
