Sonexay Siphandone Re-elected Prime Minister During 10th National Assembly Session


Vientiane: Mr Sonexay Siphandone was re-elected Prime Minister of the Lao PDR during the inaugural session of the 10th legislature of the National Assembly in Vientiane this morning.



According to Lao News Agency, the opening session, held at the National Assembly Hall, gathered lawmakers from various regions of the country to deliberate on crucial national priorities and leadership appointments for the new term. The session marked a significant step in setting the legislative agenda for the coming years.



Members of the National Assembly demonstrated overwhelming support for Mr Sonexay Siphandone, with a 98.83 percent approval vote to retain him as the head of government. This vote reflects the strong confidence in Mr Siphandone’s leadership and his experience in guiding the nation.



Scheduled from March 23 to 27, the first session of the 10th National Assembly provides lawmakers with the opportunity to review and approve significant national agendas. These include legislative plans, development strategies, and institutional frameworks to steer the country’s progress in the new term.
