Thai King and Queen Commence State Visit to Laos


Vientiane: Thai King and Queen have arrived in Laos for a state visit, marking a significant moment in the diplomatic relations between the two Southeast Asian nations. Their Majesties were received at Wattay International Airport by Deputy Prime Minister Saleumxay Kommasith, his spouse, and senior officials representing both the Lao and Thai governments.



According to Lao News Agency, the visit is a result of an invitation extended by Thongloun Sisoulith, President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic. The primary aim of the visit is to strengthen the historical friendship and strategic partnership that exists between Laos and Thailand.



During their stay, Their Majesties are scheduled to engage in discussions with President Thongloun Sisoulith and other prominent Lao leaders. Their itinerary also includes visits to key cultural and development sites such as the Houay Sone-Houay Soua Agriculture Development and Service Center, the Lao Ancient Silk House, and the Pha That Luang Museum.



The visit is anticipated to enhance bilateral cooperation and solidify the longstanding ties shared by the neighboring countries.
