Vientiane: Mr Thongloun Sisoulith was re-elected President of the Lao PDR during the inaugural session of the 10th legislature of the National Assembly in Vientiane this morning. The opening session took place at the National Assembly Hall, where lawmakers from across the country gathered to discuss key national priorities and leadership appointments for the coming term.
According to Lao News Agency, members of the National Assembly voted with 99 percent approval to retain Mr Thongloun in the top leadership position. This overwhelming support highlights the strong confidence in his leadership and experience. The first session of the 10th National Assembly is scheduled to run from March 23 to 27. During this period, lawmakers will review and approve major national agendas, including legislative plans, development strategies, and institutional frameworks for the new term.
