Hanoi: The General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) inaugurated a training course on trade union affairs for officers of the Lao People’s Army (LPA) in Hanoi on November 5. In his opening remarks, Colonel Nguyen Dinh Duc, who leads the trade union affairs division, emphasized the longstanding and loyal relationship between Vietnam and Laos, noting that trade union cadres and members of both armies have consistently upheld and promoted their nations’ and militaries’ traditions.
According to Lao News Agency, the training course is a testament to the special attention from the ministries of national defence of both countries, as well as the solidarity among trade union members of the VPA and the LPA. Colonel Duc highlighted the practical and effective activities undertaken by the union members, which have significantly contributed to strengthening the special friendship between the Vietnamese and Lao armies.
Throughout the month-long course, participants will partake in field trips to
gain insights into organizational models and trade union activities within various units and enterprises in Vietnam. Additionally, they will have opportunities to explore historical and cultural sites, along with scenic locations, to better understand Vietnam’s history, culture, and people.
The training is anticipated to enhance the participants’ knowledge, skills, and expertise in military trade union work, providing them with a deeper understanding of the Vietnamese army and its cultural context.
