Vientiane: A delegation from the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Organisation Commission held talks with their Lao counterparts in Vientiane on August 19. The Vietnamese delegation was led by Nguyen Thanh Tam, a member of the CPV Central Committee and deputy head of the commission, while the Lao delegation was headed by Boudsadi Thanameung, a member of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee and deputy head of the committee’s organisation commission.
According to Lao News Agency, the meeting provided both sides an opportunity to exchange updates on Party-building efforts and socio-economic development in each country. Both parties recognized the significance of the CPV’s Organisation Commission’s assignment to engage in in-depth discussions with its Lao counterpart, especially as both Parties prepare for their respective national congresses. This engagement is seen as a crucial step in strengthening the special friendship, solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation b
etween Vietnam and Laos.
Nguyen Thanh Tam emphasized the visit’s role in deepening exchanges on Party organisation and building, particularly focusing on restructuring the organisational apparatus and preparing for all-level party congresses in anticipation of the 14th National Congress of the CPV. Discussions also covered party membership development management and the strengthening of grassroots organisations to meet new requirements.
Boudsadi Thanameung praised the effective cooperation between the two commissions, noting the achievements of the LPRP in Party building. These achievements include preparations for congresses at all levels, organisational restructuring, and enhancing the quality of cadres and Party members. The meeting was conducted in a warm, sincere, and comradely atmosphere, underscoring both commissions’ determination to further enhance cooperation, share experiences, and contribute to consolidating the special ties between Vietnam and Laos.
The Vietnamese delegation’s visit will also
include meetings with leaders of Vientiane province on August 20 and a courtesy call to the head of the LPRP Organisation Commission on August 21, before returning to Vietnam.
