Hanoi: The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) has sent a message of congratulations to the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) on the occasion of the latter’s 71st founding anniversary (March 22, 1955 – 2026).
According to Lao News Agency, the message highlighted that over the past seven decades, Laos, under the wise leadership of the LPRP, has achieved significant accomplishments across various fields. The nation has maintained political stability, recorded positive socio-economic development results, enhanced living standards, and increased its role and standing in both regional and global arenas. These achievements serve as a great source of encouragement for the Party, State, and people of Vietnam.
The message further conveyed the deep gratitude of the Vietnamese Party, State, and people for the support extended by their Lao counterparts during Vietnam’s revolutionary struggle and in its current national construction and defense efforts.

med the agreement between the two Parties and States to incorporate the concept of ‘strategic cohesion’ into their bilateral framework. This development elevates bilateral relations, reflecting deep political trust and a shared determination to strengthen ties between the two Parties, States, and peoples of Vietnam and Laos.
In the message, Vietnam also affirmed its comprehensive support for Laos’ reform efforts, pledging continued solidarity with the LPRP as it implements the Resolution of its 12th National Congress and the 10th five-year socio-economic development plan, aiming to build a peaceful, independent, democratic, and prosperous country.
The message emphasized that the special relationship, founded and nurtured by Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh, Lao Presidents Kaysone Phomvihane, and Souphanouvong, and cultivated by successive generations, continues to be strengthened in a substantive and effective manner.

On this occasion, Party General Secretary To Lam sent flowers to congratulate Lao Party General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith. Politburo member and Permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Cam Tu also sent flowers to his Lao counterpart Vilay Lakhamphong, while Politburo member and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung sent a congratulatory letter to the LPRP Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Chairman Bounleua Phandanouvong.
