Hanoi: Vietnam always strongly and fully supports Laos’s national construction and development, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee To Lam told Thongsalith Mangnomek, Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee and Chairman of the LPRP Central Committee’s Office at a reception for the latter in Hanoi on May 30.
According to Lao News Agency, Lam welcomed Mangnomek’s visit, which takes place at a time when both countries are realising resolutions of their National Party Congresses and socio-economic development plans, as well as organising Party Congresses at all levels in the lead-up to the National Party Congress of each nation in early 2026. This visit is seen as a contribution to deepening the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos and the traditional cooperation between the Offices of the LPRP and CPV Central Committees.
Lam expressed his satisfaction with the achievements of the Lao Party, State, and people, highlighting the LPRP Central Committee Office’s role in implementing innovative approaches to Party building, socio-economic development, national defence-security, and external affairs in line with the 11th National Party Congress’s Resolution.
The General Secretary expressed confidence that under the LPRP’s leadership, the Lao people will overcome challenges and achieve greater success in implementing the Resolution of the 11th National Party Congress. He praised the collaboration between the two offices in monitoring Vietnam-Laos cooperation agreements and sharing information and experience in advising on key agendas for the Politburo and Party Central Committee’s Secretariat.
The Vietnamese Party chief emphasized the importance of adhering to agreed-upon contents to enhance the quality of strategic advisory work for the leadership of both Parties.
The Lao Party official congratulated Vietnam on its achievements and expressed confidence that under the CPV’s leadership, the Vietnamese people will continue to succeed in their reform efforts. He provided updates on developments in Laos, particularly regarding the implementation of the 11th Party Congress’s Resolution and preparations for upcoming Party congresses.
He highlighted the cooperation between the two Party Central Committee offices and the outcomes of his talks with Secretary of the CPV Central Committee Le Hoai Trung. Key highlights of his visit included the launch of a book on cooperation traditions between the two offices and the presentation of Lao Party and State orders and medals to Vietnamese Party Central Committee office members.
The Lao official expressed gratitude for Vietnam’s support over the years and reaffirmed the LPRP Central Committee Office’s commitment to maintaining and nurturing the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos, contributing to regional and global peace, stability, cooperation, and development.
