Vietnamese and Lao Parties Strengthen Bilateral Ties


Hanoi: Politburo member, Permanent member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Cam Tu on June 3 received Acting Chairman of the Commission for External Relations of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee Bounleua Phandanouvong, who is on a three-day official visit to Vietnam.



According to Lao News Agency, Tu congratulated Bounleua on his new role and expressed confidence that the Lao official, with his extensive experience and the trust of the Lao Party and State, will continue to contribute significantly to implementing the foreign policy of the Lao Party and State. He emphasized the importance of nurturing and further developing the special solidarity between the two countries.



Tu proposed that amid the complex developments globally and regionally, with intertwined opportunities and challenges, the commissions for external relations of both sides should continue to promote their strong relationship. He stressed the need to enhance information exchange and closely coordinate to successfully fulfill their assigned tasks, thereby strengthening and deepening the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties and nations.



Bounleua, while briefing the host on his talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, affirmed that the Commission for External Relations of the LPRP Central Committee will strive to fulfill the tasks entrusted by the two Parties and States. He assured that the commission would effectively implement the agreements reached by their high-level leaders.



He expressed gratitude to Vietnam for its supportive and effective assistance to Laos over the years and affirmed his country’s commitment to working alongside Vietnam to preserve, nurture, and develop the special Laos-Vietnam solidarity. This effort is aimed at benefiting their people and promoting peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.



Additionally, Bounleua visited the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, where he interacted with the academy’s staff, lecturers, and students, discussing the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.
