Vietnamese Culture Promoted at Diplomatic Gathering in Laos.


Vientiane: The women’s association under the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted a tea party in Vientiane on November 19, drawing female diplomats, spouses of diplomats, and representatives from international organizations in the country together.

According to Lao News Agency, Vietnamese representatives, adorned in traditional Ao dai (long dress), captivated attendees by showcasing Vietnam’s rich history and culture through a series of music, dance, and traditional culinary presentations. The Vietnamese booth stood out by highlighting the culinary and cultural essence of Hanoi and Vietnam as a whole, thereby strengthening cultural diplomacy and engaging the audience effectively.

The event also featured traditional Lao and international performances, along with a display of crafts and food, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere for all visitors. This annual gathering serves as a platform for female diplomats and their spouses to exchange experiences, foster solidarity, and present their nations’ uniq
ue cultural heritage.

Alouni Kommasith, the spouse of Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Saleumxay Kommasith, emphasized the significance of such gatherings, particularly as Laos successfully chaired the ASEAN Summits and related meetings this year. She expressed gratitude to all participants and ASEAN partners for their contributions to these achievements and highlighted the essential role of women in diplomacy.
