Vietnamese Leaders Extend Congratulatory Messages to Newly-Elected Lao Leaders


Hanoi: Party General Secretary To Lam, State President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, and Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan have extended their congratulations to Thongloun Sisoulith on his election as State President of Laos, Sonexay Siphandone as Prime Minister, Saysomphone Phomvihane as National Assembly Chairman, and Viengthong Siphandone as Vice State President.



According to Lao News Agency, the messages from the Vietnamese leaders emphasized the trust and high regard that the Lao National Assembly and the Lao people have placed in their newly-elected leaders. The Vietnamese leaders highlighted the leaders’ capacity, reputation, and significant contributions to the revolutionary cause and socio-economic development of Laos.



The Vietnamese leaders expressed confidence that these newly-elected officials will guide the State and people of Laos in successfully implementing the Resolution of the 12th LPRP National Congress and the 10th five-year socio-economic development plan for the 2026-2030 period. They envision a peaceful, independent, democratic, unified, and prosperous Laos, with a growing presence in the region and the international arena. The Vietnamese leaders also expressed their satisfaction with the ongoing strengthening of the friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic cohesion between Vietnam and Laos, which have provided tangible benefits to the people of both nations and contributed to regional peace, stability, and development.



The Vietnamese leaders reaffirmed the strong friendship, unique solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic cohesion between Vietnam and Laos as invaluable shared treasures nurtured by generations of leaders and citizens from both countries. They reiterated Vietnam’s commitment to closely collaborate with Lao leaders to enhance bilateral ties, thereby contributing to peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and the world.



On the same day, Politburo member and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung sent a congratulatory message to Thongsavan Phomvihane on his election as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos. Trung conveyed his belief that Thongsavan Phomvihane, in his new role, will pursue a foreign policy centered on peace, independence, friendship, and cooperation for development, while continuing to promote the substantive and effective development of relations between the two countries in general and between the two foreign ministries in particular.
