China Ready to Work with U.S. for Steady Growth of Ties: Chinese VP


Washington: Chinese Vice President Han Zheng stated on Sunday that China is prepared to collaborate with the United States to maintain the strategic guidance of head-of-state diplomacy. The goal is to implement the significant agreements reached between Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, aiming for steady, healthy, and sustainable development in bilateral relations.



According to Lao News Agency, Han made these statements during a meeting with U.S. Vice President-elect J.D. Vance in Washington, D.C., where he is attending Trump’s inauguration ceremony as Xi’s special representative. During the meeting, Han conveyed Xi’s greetings to Trump and congratulated Vance on his election victory.



Han highlighted that Xi recently had a crucial phone call with Trump, where both leaders reached important consensus on the future development of China-U.S. relations. He emphasized that both China and the United States are significant nations with ambitious development goals and dreams.



Han remarked that by upholding principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation, both nations could contribute to each other’s progress and bring benefits to their countries, as well as make significant contributions to global peace and development. He pointed out that economic and trade relations are vital concerns for both parties.



Despite existing differences and tensions, Han noted that China and the United States have substantial common interests and opportunities for cooperation. He suggested that both sides enhance dialogue and consultation to address these issues.



On his part, Vance expressed Trump’s sincere greetings to Xi and referred to a recent phone call between Trump and Xi, during which they discussed crucial issues concerning bilateral ties. Vance acknowledged the importance of economic and trade relations for both nations.



Vance also recognized China’s growing role in international affairs and conveyed that the United States is eager to cultivate a lasting and productive relationship with China. He emphasized the need for strengthened dialogue and cooperation on international and regional issues to jointly promote world peace and stability.
