Hanoi: Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son has signed a decision to approve a programme aimed at training and sharing knowledge on ethnic affairs specifically for officials from Laos and Cambodia. This initiative seeks to bolster the capacity of these officials in their respective roles, enhance the effectiveness of cooperation on ethnic affairs between the two countries and Vietnam, and foster friendship and comprehensive collaboration.
According to Lao News Agency, the mission of the programme is to develop training curricula and resources on ethnic affairs tailored for Lao and Cambodian officials. These materials are designed to cater to various target groups, focusing on improving knowledge, skills, and capacity in accordance with the practical requirements of each country. The programme will facilitate annual exchange activities and experience sharing among representatives of ethnic minority leaders residing along Vietnam’s borders with Laos and Cambodia.
Moreover, the programme aims to strengthen collaborative efforts in planning and developing educational content and will work with esteemed training institutions in Laos and Cambodia. It will organise training sessions, share knowledge on ethnic affairs, and conduct conferences, workshops, and experience-sharing exchanges in these countries, thereby enhancing the overall cooperation and understanding among the involved nations.
