Prime Minister Launches National Science and Teacher Development Initiatives in Laos

Vientiane: The Prime Minister presided over a significant ceremony at the National University of Laos, marking the launch of national initiatives aimed at advancing science and teacher development. The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education and Sports Thongsalith Mangnomek, representatives from UNESCO, government officials, development partners, and education stakeholders.

According to Lao News Agency, the new strategy and policy are designed to serve as crucial frameworks for the progression of science, technology, innovation, and human resource development in Laos. During the event, Thongsalith emphasized the role of science, technology, and innovation in fostering socio-economic growth, bolstering national development, improving living standards, and addressing environmental issues. He highlighted that these initiatives are aligned with the country's 10th National Socio-Economic Development Plan (2026-2030).

The Prime Minister actively participated in the official launch ceremony and took part in a tree-planting activity alongside other participants. Officials noted that the newly introduced strategy and teacher policy are expected to significantly contribute to strengthening the education sector and enhancing the country's capacity for long-term development.
