Vietnamese Embassy Celebrates Tet and Communist Party Anniversary in Vientiane and Moscow


Vientiane: The Vietnamese Embassy in Laos organized a gathering to celebrate the Lunar New Year (Tet) 2025 and commemorate the 95th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) in Vientiane. The event, held on the evening of January 24, was attended by several high-level Lao leaders.



According to Lao News Agency, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam addressed the attendees, sharing insights into the achievements of the CPV over its 95-year history. He highlighted Vietnam’s milestones in politics, national defense, security, foreign affairs, and socio-economic development achieved in 2024. The ambassador acknowledged the support and assistance from the Lao Party, State, and people, which have been instrumental in Vietnam’s historical and current successes.



Ambassador Tam expressed hope for continued solidarity and cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, aiming for mutual development and advancement on the path of building socialism. Representing the Lao Party, State, and people, Bounthong Chitmani, a Politburo member and State Vice President, conveyed New Year greetings to the Vietnamese people and congratulated the CPV on its anniversary. He commended the leadership of the CPV for its significant achievements in national building and safeguarding.



The Lao leader expressed confidence that Vietnam, under the CPV’s leadership, government administration, and National Assembly supervision, will continue its progress towards becoming a modern industrial nation, as outlined in the 13th National Party Congress’s Resolution.



In a related celebration, the Lao Embassy in Russia visited the Vietnamese Embassy, where Lao Ambassador Siphandone Oiboubutdy praised Vietnam’s socio-economic progress. He affirmed a commitment to fostering cooperation between the two embassies through foreign affairs and friendship exchanges.



Additionally, a gathering was held at the Hanoi – Moscow multifunctional complex Incentra in Moscow to celebrate the Year of the Snake with Vietnamese expatriates. Vietnamese Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi wished for a happy and prosperous New Year 2025 for all Vietnamese, as the nation embarks on a new era of growth.



On the same day, the Vietnamese Consulate General in Vladivostok marked the CPV’s 95th anniversary and hosted the Xuan Que Huong (Homeland Spring) program, celebrating the shared history and achievements of Vietnam.
