Vietnamese, Lao, Cambodian Students Celebrate Traditional New Year Festivals

Hanoi: The New Year festivals, known as Chol Chnam Thmay in Cambodia and Bunpimay in Laos, are celebrated annually from April 14-16. Addressing the event, the university's Rector Luong Minh Cu extended New Year wishes for health, happiness, peace, and good fortune to all Khmer lecturers, staff, and students, as well as Cambodian and Lao students.

According to Lao News Agency, nearly 250 individuals from these groups are currently hosted by the university. Rector Luong Minh Cu emphasized the university's dedication to supporting students by fostering a conducive learning and living environment, aiding them in achieving academic success. International students are encouraged to participate in research, field trips, and cultural, arts, and sports exchanges alongside their studies.

Rector Cu expressed his hope that all Khmer students, along with Cambodian and Lao students, would continue to strive for academic excellence and subsequently contribute to the development of their home countries. On this occasion, the university presented gifts and lucky money to nearly 250 Khmer lecturers, staff, and students, as well as students from Cambodia and Laos. The provincial Youth Union also offered New Year gifts to the international students studying at the university.
