Republic of Korea and Denmark Aim to Strengthen Collaboration in AI and Climate Technology


Seoul: Republic of Korea and Denmark have agreed to seek opportunities to expand cooperation in emerging sectors, including artificial intelligence (AI), hydrogen, and climate technology, the science ministry said Wednesday. First Vice Science Minister Koo Hyuk-chae met with Mikael Hemniti Winther, the Danish ambassador to Republic of Korea, in Seoul on the day to exchange ideas on expanding bilateral exchanges in science and technology amid growing global competition.

According to Lao News Agency, the meeting highlighted Denmark’s position as a leading player in Northern Europe regarding innovation, which presents great potential for collaboration with Republic of Korea. Koo expressed hope for closer ties with Denmark within global frameworks, such as Horizon Europe, a research funding program.

The two officials exchanged views on their respective countries’ policies on AI, hydrogen, and climate technology, emphasizing the need to identify areas for practical cooperation in the future. “We hope the two cou
ntries continue exchanges and cooperation in the science and technology sector,” Koo added.
