The Government of Germany has provided a financial support of about EUR 1 million to fund the Xe Samou bridge construction in Xepon, Savannakhet Province.
The construction project, under the ‘’Reconstruction of Infrastructure in Southern Laos’’ (RISL) programme, started in 2018 and was completed weeks ago.
The inauguration of the bridge was held this week in the presence of KfW Director Burkhard Hinz and Deputy Governor of Savannakhet Province Linthong Sengtavanh.
“Roads and bridges are a connection for relationships in different ways, for the people as it facilitates not only the transport of goods, but also for the meeting of families and friends, and better access to facilities including schools, markets and health services,” said Mr. Burkhard Hinz.
Deputy Governor Linthong appreciated the assistance provided by the German government and people for development and poverty eradication in districts of Savannakhet Province such as Xepon and Nong.
